Product Description Buffy fans will go wild!
SHE WAS TARA ON BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER.
Now she s the author of Ace s hottest new series killer novels featuring Calliope Reaper-Jones, who doesn t want to be daddy s little girl anymore...
Calliope Reaper-Jones so just wanted a normal life: buying designer shoes on sale, dating guys from Craig s List, web-surfing for organic dim-sum for her boss...
But when her father who happens to be Death himself is kidnapped, and the Devil s Protege embarks on a hostile takeover of the family business, Death, Inc., Callie returns home to assume the CEO mantle only to discover she must complete three nearly impossible tasks in the realm of the afterlife first.

Could not put it down! June 26, 2009 Rea Laskowski (Queens, New York) I thought this book was just great, in fact I did not want to put it down while I was reading it. Very easy, fun read all-in-all. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the trilogy will be like, let alone the other books coming out that are based on other characters mentioned in Death's Daughter. I don't know how much manly men will like it, since it is DEFINITELY a chick-lit book, so you have to have an open mind. And yes, Calliope does get a tad annoying at times with her whining, but she has a great heart, and is entertaining through-out. Love it!
A Fun Filled Read June 18, 2009 Timothy Collins (Boston, MA) Spoiler Alert: This is the first solo writing effort by Amber Benson (Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame). While this is not her first writing effort (she has co-authored 2 books with Christopher Golden in the Ghosts of Albion) it is for flying by herself. We have Calliope Reaper-Jones as our heroine who is an unobtrusive person working her 9-5 job. What we don't relaize is that she is also a daughter of the Grim Reaper. She has casted a forget spell on herself so she can live a normal life. A family crisis brings her back to the fold. The sotry is both funny and compelling at the same time. It is well worth a read and I look forward to the further adventures of Calliope.
A whimsical, fun blend of fantasy, mystery and more evolves June 17, 2009 Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) Calliope Reaper-Jones is the Devil's own business protegee - literally - and aspires to a normal glamorous career in New York City, not the family business. So when she's expected to step into the shoes of the family's devilish business she resists - until a contest involving find three objects of power - in Hell - involve her in a dangerous game. A whimsical, fun blend of fantasy, mystery and more evolves.
Quirky and Fun June 10, 2009 Amber Hall (Illinois, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I LOVED this book. It was a fast read. Very fun , quirky, and very humorous. Would definatly recommend.
Not My Kind of Book May 25, 2009 Jennifer Beaujon (Stow, OH United States) Death's Daughter by Amber Benson is an urban fantasy tale about a girl who is, surprise surprise, the daughter of Death. Death has gone missing and Calliope Reaper-Jones is called to take over for daddy. She must leave the normal life she has found for herself. There was not much about this book that I liked. An accurate comparison would be poorly written fan-fiction. It was full of cliches, slang, pop-culture references, and flat characters. Definitely not my kind of book.
