Must have for the Jimi Hendrix faithfull! June 16, 2009

Monika Dannemann was a very good friend and lover to Jimi and whatever happened at the hour of his death knew a lot about him. This book is really amazing in the insights she has about Jimi's spiritual side which though certainly not the only source is extensive. The "sell" is the images of Jimi on his last afternoon having tea and goofing with his current favorite guitar. Really sad!
I honestly could not read this book, only excerpt it and yet I am happy to own it and came away feeling as if I had a larger view of Jimi through this complicated and troubled spirit, Monica. The details of his death at such a moment will always haunt us and I don't think we can't really rely on Monika to straighten this out from the grave here. I would appear that the tabloids had it wrong by her account. Her drawings and the evidence she has of her relationship with Jimi and his spiritual guidance show that he was much more than a drug focused guitar god. He was very deeply into the mystic and this is more than proven here by the many artifacts and remembrances presented by Monika.
I think if you can get your hands on an out of print book like this in decent shape you will also have a collectors item of some value. If you love Jimi as I do you will only come away a little closer to him and to the odd enigmatic and haunted women he loved last.

The artwork is worth the money. There's a full color piece on almost every other page. Monika is an extraordinarily gifted painter. She also has much insight in to the legend that is Hendrix. (Hard Cover Edition)

What a beautiful display of art and love.My copy was accidently binded backwards, probably a message to love by jimi, and packed with good vibes and heavenly artwork. Interesting that she left this realm after completing...but thanks for what they left us. Hendrix lives on in this one.
