Rob Bell, I'm an easy sell. June 30, 2009 C. Free (Virginia Beach, VA) I eat his stuff up. He packages his work so well, from the writing style to the product itself. You'll likely enjoy it.
Read This Book. June 11, 2009 Mark Montgomery Excellent read. It will change your conversations at church. You'll watch yourself become more passionate about "her." Read the book.

Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith Rob Bell's daring chore of cleaning a basement or attic of social faddisms brings Velvet Elvis to life. Readers dust off and examine socially/culturally accepted ideas and viewpoints similarly to how Jesus confronts the Pharisee in the Gospels. An "it has been said" mentality compares to a "what does scripture teach" discussion throughout the pages of Bell's writings. Authenticity comes under question when present-day attitudes stand side-by-side to Biblical principles. Thoughtful and insightful.
Yes, but then again? April 30, 2009 Dee-Luxx Thought Rob Bell makes some excellent points....connects some Scriptural "dots" that are significant. However, after the point is made, some of Rob's statements take on a life of their own swerving away from, and in some cases, contradicting Biblical truth.
A Fresh Appreciation April 14, 2009 John H. Eagan (Freehold, NJ) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith by Rob Bell is a book written by a pastor who feels that maybe God doesn't change, but people do. The author feels that new times call for new understandings. Bell has many doubts when it comes to understanding Scripture. Bell draws a new depth out of the Bible with a fresh appreciation for its content. After you read this book it may be a good time to consider reading my book entitled "The Enlightenment, What God Told Me After One Million Prayers, a Message for Everyone" (See Profile Above)
