4 out of 5 stars Good general financial education for those new to investing.   September 8, 2008
    M. Baron (Orange County, CA)
I ordered Kiplinger's and Money magazine for my mom who is nearing retirement age. She's relatively inexperience when it comes to personal finance and retirement planning. She does use an investment adviser, but hasn't seen much growth in her accounts, and is confused by much of what the adviser tells her. My recommendations to her were, first, find a new adviser, and second, to do some reading to educate herself with the basics. With my second suggestion in mind, I signed her up for a year of both Kiplinger's and Money in hopes that she would be able to make more informed decisions when working with her adviser.
It's been about 6 months since the first set of magazines arrived, and she is very happy with both. Interestingly, I've noticed that she quotes articles from Kiplinger's much more often the from Money. I would recommend either Kiplinger's or Money to someone getting in investing, or looking to improve their general knowledge of financial vehicles, investment strategy, and financial goal setting.

3 out of 5 stars (Easy) Money   April 27, 2008

Not real bright on financial matters? Need commen-sense broken down into even simplier terms? Then, this magazine is for you. Written by what I suspect are a bunch of journalism graduates in New York City with no idea about what they are writting, living in New York City (a stupid idea on writer's salary), I am ashamed to say that I will continue subscribing just to see the monthly picture of the female editor's slender legs.

Parents, get this magazine for your teenage daughters because it is a good introduction to finance.

I especially enjoy reading the articles showcasing the investment strategies of recently divorced 50-year old gold diggers whose entire portfolio is built solely upon taking half of the ex-husbands 401K that he probably killed himself for 30 years trying to fund.

2 out of 5 stars Not Received   April 23, 2008

I'm not sure I will purchase magazines again on Amazon. It's been over six weeks and I have yet to receive one issue of Money. If I had ordered it direct, magazines usually come faster.

1 out of 5 stars No magazine   April 7, 2008

I placed my order on 2/29 and read that the magazine woul darrive in April. After calling today to find out where the magazine is and after spending 20 minuted with 3 differrent departments, I was told that it would not be delivered until June. I cancelled my order, will buy this month's issue on the newstand and will subscribe to the magazine with someone else. This is the first and last time I will use Amazon for subscriptions.
