It clearly states 6 - 8 WEEKS. = 2 months before your first issue will arrive!!! December 19, 2008 To those who love Batman, this is worth the $. YES, it does take some time to receive the magazine, but it really is worth the wait. My husband loves it. Just be patient and read Year One again.
'Tec-- Best Batman Title Right Now June 11, 2007 Paul Dini and the various writers that fill in for him are doing a great job on Detective Comics. To give you an idea here is my review of Detective Comics #833
From one of the most glorious periods in Batman's history- the Animated Series era, comes Paul Dini, who came from the adaptation side of writing Batman over to the comic book side. Paul Dini has now been a regular writer on Detective Comics (known fondly by fans as 'Tec) for a few months now and let me say, the latest issue, 'Tec #833 is the best issue he has done yet.
"Trust" starts with Batman saving the lives of magician's assistants in a trick gone wrong, one of the magicians assistants died seemingly from all of the smoke in the fire. The magician-- a man by the name of Loximas-- has had several assistants die on him and the Dark Knight is suspicious.
He calls on the assistance of Zantanna, one of his fellow Justice Leaugers-- Zatanna and Batman have not had the best relationship after finding out that she had mind-wiped him some years ago during Infinite Crisis. Despite being one of his oldest childhood friends, Bruce can not seem to forgive or forget about what Zantanna did to him. The problems in their friendship is well explored in this issue.
Batman and Zantanna decide to confront Loximas, who has gotten off the hook time and time again, only to come to a devistating revelation about him.
The issue ends with Zantanna mortally wounded, Batman trapped and a big reveal that you have to see to believe, I can't wait for #834.
All in all, the best Batman comic book-- no one of the best single issues from DC Comics in the last ten years. Well stinkin done, it's handled very well!
Great Comic poor delivery time October 30, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well I guess this is my fault for ordering this product because looking at some of the other subscription reviews I seen that it was something that took a long time. All I got to say is the estimated ship time is a hopful dart throw. I ordered this subscription with three other titles, all at the same time and my first title did not arive until a week after when I was supose to get it. The second title was two weeks later. And then I haven't even seen the last two titles when we are already two weeks after the second arived. I have been told that one of the titles will come in December whitch is waiting over another month and no one has any clue about the last. My advice, don't be cheep and just buy the subscriptions from the publisher. You may pay maybe two or three bucks more a subscription but at least you don't have to wait four months to get your order.
Paul Dini writing--now worth reading! July 14, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Beginning with Detective 821, the wonderful Paul Dini, who many Batman fans know and love from the sorely missed TV show Batman: The Aninmated Series, will be taking over this comic. His first issue, entitled "The Beautiful People" is a knockout! He is only doing single-issue, standalone stories, which is awesome for those of us who don't invest in trillion-part crossovers like "Infinite Ultra-Crisis" or whatever the heck it's called.

I order this comic over two months ago, and I have yet to receive a copy.
